 Brother of George and Thomas Gemmell, Brother-in-Law of Davina Creighton Gemmell, also uncle to Thomas Gemmell jnr, David Creighton Gemmell, Andrew Edward Gemmell and Yvonne Astley Gemmell.  Great uncle to Kelly Jane Gemmell, Stephanine Louise Gemmell, David Graham Gemmell, Andrew Edward Gemmell jnr, John William Gemmell, Aaron Charles Gemmell, Thomas Victor King, Chloe Louise Gemmell and a much loved Nephew and cousin.  Grandson of Thomas Gemmell (b.1884 Glen Turk Farm, Penninghame) and Elizabeth McBain Astley, (daughter of Thomas Astley and Margaret Whalen) also Great Grandson of Thomas Gemmell (b.1859 Knowe Village, Penninghame) and Mina McClelland, and Great Great Grandson of William Gemmill (b.1840 Black Craig Farm, Minnigaff) and Grace Shaw, (daughter of Thomas Shaw and Grace Tear) Great Great Great Great Grandson of Alexander Gamel  (b. 1783 ?) (Farmer at Black Craig), Father and Mother unknown, probably born around 1786)) and Agnes McGuffie, (daughter of James McGuffie (Cattle Dealer) and Elizabeth Ferguson.)

His Galloway Gemmell's Family's Tribute to a dear Brother, Nephew, Uncle and Cousin.  And so as one life has ended  the miracle of new life is conceived, his Nephew Thomas and partner announce the arrival of a new addition to the family on 9th December 2006, and so life within the family goes on.  (We Respect and Honour our recent and Ancestral dead, we do not cast away their ashes but treat then with respect)
